Discipleship

Through the Seasons of Life

Discipleship

Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (ESV) Conversion without discipleship is not true conversion. The essential nature of the Christian life is following Jesus in discipleship. We are committed to helping each person grow as a disciple of Jesus through

God Centered Worship

The first question of the Westminster Confession of Faith Shorter Catechism is “What is the chief end of man?” Answer, “The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him for ever!”Corporate worship is the privilege of every believer and essential to true biblical discipleship. We are told by Christ that the type of worship that is acceptable to God is worship in Spirit and in truth, therefore, man and his enjoyment, is never to be the main focus of worship, God and God alone is to be.  Such God centered, Scripture informed, Spirit led worship should bring joy to the heart of every believer.  Worship is the first step of discipleship, it is corporate discipleship, where we as a church family hear from God’s Word and seek to respond in obedience.

Prayer & Sunday School

Prayer is often the precursor of revival, therefore each Sunday at 8:30 am, we have a prayer meeting as we begin the day interceding for each other and our church family and the church universal, asking God to pour out His Holy Spirit in revival and awakening.

Sunday school follows at 10:45-11:45 am for all ages.  For more information about Christian education for children Pre-K through 12th grade please check on the Children’s Ministry page.  For adults, Sunday school is divided into four quarters of three months each, with multiple Sunday school offerings for the adults including a women’s study.  All Sunday school classes are designed to grow disciples where they are at.

Ministry Involvement

The true sign of a growing disciple is when they are helping others grow in their walk with Jesus. Ministry involvement is a wonderful way to grow in the discovery of your gifts while you help others grow.  It could be as simple as making and delivering a meal for a new mother to helping kids register for VBS, to playing on the Praise Team, to leading or hosting a Grace Group.  There are ministry opportunities available for anybody ready to serve the Lord and others.
